Parkacre Awarded SGS Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Certification

Parkacre has undertaken its annual audit and is pleased to announce that its UK manufacturing site in Lincolnshire has been awarded GMP certification from SGS.

How did we achieve the standards?

Parkacre has successfully passed the external audit with its quality and food safety processes being assessed against world class requirements. The audit can take up to 10 hours which includes a traceability exercise.

To achieve the GMP certification Parkacre must ensure the end product is well documented throughout manufacturing and packaging process. This means that Parkacre have to check the product at different stages and ensure that it is high quality and free from contamination.

What is SGS GMP Certification?

Known as the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification, SGS are recognised as the global benchmark for quality and integrity. SGS specialise in providing business solutions that improve quality, safety and productivity and reduce risk.

Many food industry companies have implemented the GMP certification scheme for food processing as the foundation upon which they have developed and implemented other quality and food safety management systems.

A Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) certification scheme provides independent verification and certification that the basic manufacturing practices and prerequisites necessary for the implementation of an effective Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) food safety programme are being followed.

What does this means to our customers?

SGS certification assurance of safe and quality products is important consideration for many of our customers and their consumers.

Speaking to our Technical Operations Manager, he detailed the importance of the GMP certification “GMP is an important enhancement to our food safety management system, which increases our customers’ confidence in our commitment to trading and producing safe, high quality supplements.”

Having the GMP certification demonstrates that Parkacre conform to the guidelines set by SGS. These guidelines provide requirements that Parkacre have to meet to assure its products are consistently high in quality.

Parkacre is able to continually give its customers confidence that is producing safe, high quality products by meeting the GMP certification standards.
